My name is Ariana and I am a birth doula serving the greater Washington DC metro area. I received my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina in 2010.
I am a certified birth doula through DONA International, the oldest and most respected doula organization worldwide. I first began my training as a volunteer doula with the Birth Partners program at the North Carolina Women's Hospital. I have experience in working with teens, mature women, spanish speakers, induction, prematurity as well as high- and low-risk mothers. I also am healthcare provider-certified in Adult, Child and Infant CPR. I now live in Maryland, continuing the work of supporting women and their families throughout their birth experience. In addition to serving as a low-cost doula, I am also a volunteer doula for Operation Special Delivery, a program dedicated to providing trained volunteer doulas for military and veteran spouses.
My philosophy: Every woman deserves a safe, rewarding and personalized birth. It is one of the most memorable experiences of your life and it should be treated as such. The laboring woman should be encouraged to trust her body's ability to birth her baby and understand she can make informed decisions about the birth. Whether through a medicated, natural, induced or cesarean birth, the most important factors are that the laboring woman feels satisfied with her experience and knowledgeable in her choices. By serving as a doula, I aim to offer the emotional, physical and informational support needed throughout labor to make each child's birth a fulfilling and empowering memory for years to come.
My mission: To provide quality services for any woman who desires a doula, and at minimal cost.
